Corporate governance

Social Security Scotland is an executive agency of the Scottish Government. Social Security Scotland’s Chief Executive is accountable to Scottish Ministers and the Scottish Parliament, and through Ministers to the Parliament. Chief Executive, currently David Wallace, reports to the Cabinet Secretary for Social Security and Older People, Shirley-Anne Somerville.

The Social Security Scotland Framework Document sets out the relationship between Social Security Scotland and the Scottish Government, and the accountability structures within which we operate.
