Overview

We are currently seeking applications for a Delivery Manager based in Dundee or Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the delivery of complex, high-risk products and services for the Chief Digital Office’s Digital Risk and Security Branch.

The post holder will enable the effective delivery of technology and associated processes by co-ordinating delivery team activities. They must have strong communication skills, be able to engage with senior stakeholders, and maintain close relationships with key business partners and colleagues.

They will manage and maintain the budgetary and project reporting requirements of delivery outcomes while highlighting risks and resolving issues throughout the delivery lifecycle.

This post attracts a £5000 Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement after a 3 months DDaT competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are temporary payments designed to address recruitment and retention issues caused by market pressures and are subject to regular review. This post is part of the Scottish Government DDaT profession. As a member of the profession you will join the professional development system, currently BCS RoleModelplus.

Main Duties

• A Delivery Manager is accountable for effective delivery of complex, high-risk products and services. This will include alignment of numerous technical delivery teams to deliver integrated services.

• The role is fully responsible for delivery of technology outcomes across Chief Digital Office and throughout the entire lifecycle of our products and services. They shall be the single point of contact for our customers and project manager, acting as the main point of escalation.

• Maintaining a constant view of the Total Cost of Ownership for any outcome delivery and the maintenance cost once handed over, the Delivery Manager will regularly report progress, highlight risks and resolve issues across the delivery landscape.

• Provide effective co-ordination and guidance to CDO delivery team activities in line with approved work streams and outcomes;

• Provide an ongoing health check / RAG status of approved work streams to relevant governance, assessing whether the outcomes continue to meet agreed deadlines and quality metrics.

• Establish appropriate lead times/deadlines with delivery teams within the organisation and ensure adherence, tracking exceptions where required.

• Tracking that suitable resource profile is in place to meet overall demand and raise risks/issues where workload outweighs capacity. Facilitate prioritisation sessions with customer/CDO stakeholders;

• Maintain close relationships with key business initiatives to ensure there are no overlaps in responsibilities ;

• Translate outcomes into delivery requirements, identify dependencies and delivery timeline chronology.

• Ensure clear delivery roadmap is in place for each outcome.

• Generate Impact Assessments at the start of each project detailing total cost of ownership for both delivery and maintaining of the outcome. Highlighting change as and when required.

• Chair regular SCRUM Master sessions brining all delivery management resources together to ensure everyone understands where they fit into the ‘bigger picture’

• Ensure all outcomes adopt a suitable risk management approach

• Chair technical stakeholder groups and participate in stakeholder meetings, senior management meetings and other such events
