Who is the current Social Security Scotland DPO and what is their “suitable qualification/s” in DP. Who is in charge of the FOI email inbox at SSS, what are their qualifications?

Any internal legal LLB professional holders employees details between the opening of SSS and today’s date.

Request for information 1: 

We have interpreted your request to be for the name of the current Social Security Scotland Data Protection Officer and for the relevant qualifications they have in Data Protection.  

Social Security Scotland is an Agency of the Scottish Government. The data controller is Scottish Ministers. More information on the registration of Scottish Ministers is publicly available here: Information Commissioners - Data protection register - entry details (ico.org.uk).  

The entry records that the Data Protection Officer for Social Security Scotland is Helen Findlay.  

Helen holds a Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection from the British Computing Society. 

Request for information 2: 

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Social Security Scotland does not have the information you have requested. This is because Social Security Scotland have not retained qualification records of employees dating back to the inception of the Agency.   

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that Social Security Scotland does not have the information you have requested.
