The fourth case was incorrectly included as entry no.1 in our response to FOI 202400405199 which was shared with you on 16 April 2024. We had said there were nine cases were an applicant died prior to the approval of their application in 2023, when the correct answer should have been eight.
It should be noted that this data is drawn from management information, which has not been quality assured to the same level as that in our Official Statistics publication. As such, this figure should be interpreted with caution.
While we cannot comment on individual cases, we are committed to giving people timely decisions, while allowing sufficient time to ensure the correct information is in place to get decisions right the first time.
