Information relating to job vacancy 2024-8906 Strategic Resourcing Support: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

FOI reference: FOI/202400421379
Date received: 3 July 2024
Date responded: 26 July 2024

Information requested

In relation to job vacancy 2024-8906 Strategic Resourcing Support I would like to know:

Request for information 1: How many candidates were interviewed?

Request for information 2: How many people are on the reserve list for this role?

Request for information 3: Please provide me with a copy of the lead panel member document or similar documentation that was provided to the interview panel for this role.

Response

Request for information 1:

9 people were invited to interview, 2 people withdrew and 7 people were interviewed.

Request for information 2:

We consider that this information is exempt under Section 38(1)(b) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. The reason for this is that we consider that the information is personal data, release of which would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in Section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.

In order to assist you, and to protect the identities of those involved, we can provide a suppressed range. Where the answer is zero this would be disclosed and not be withheld.

We can confirm that fewer than five individuals were placed on the reserve list.

Request for information 3:

Please find the requested information in the attached document.

An exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA (personal information) applies to a small amount of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, i.e. names and contact details of individuals and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in Section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
