Corporate Parenting Plan
Social Security Scotland’s first Corporate Parenting Plan provides information and context on corporate parenting and sets out the actions we will take to uphold the rights and safe guard the wellbeing of care experienced young people.
Our action plan is centred around the six statutory duties listed in the Children and Young Peoples (Scotland) Act 2014. We see our action plan as more than just an obligation to meet our statutory duties. It is an opportunity to continually improve.
We recognise that meeting our corporate parenting duties is not a process with a clear end date. Social Security Scotland is committed to consistently monitoring and improving our plan and identifying new actions. Throughout this process, we wish to strengthen the relationships that we have built to date, make new connections while continuing to engage with stakeholders and individuals with lived experience of care.
