In our Digital Strategy, we set out our plan to deliver digital services in a way that was as robust, secure and open as possible. Now, we’re delivering our digital development in a way that provides the best possible service while achieving best possible value.

Policy governing the operation of digital within Social Security Scotland is being developed by the Scottish Government through the Social Security Directorate Chief Digital Officer and his team. Once fully developed, responsibility for implementation will pass to Social Security Scotland.

Our approach to digital security and data privacy is based on the principle of Secure by Design. This means we treat client data with dignity, fairness and respect – in line with Social Security Scotland’s core values.

As we deal with a varied group of the public, we’ve developed a wide variety of communications channels in a range of formats to make it easily manageable for everyone. This includes digital channels, print materials and regular face to face communications.

We will use this approach both when we are sharing our corporate information and when we are seeking views or engagement from members of the public.

We also apply these flexible ways of communicating with Social Security Scotland to our recruitment activity.
