Text Relay Service

A text relay service is available for the hard of hearing on 18001 0300 244 4000.

British Sign Language

British Sign Language users can access Contact Scotland BSL support directly by visiting Contact Scotland BSL.

Independent advocacy service

Support is available from the independent advocacy service Advocacy.scot, operated by Advice Direct Scotland. You can contact them for free by calling 0808 196 8901, visiting Advocacy.scot or emailing support@advocacy.scot.

Apply in a language that’s not English 

Contact Social Security Scotland to apply over the phone. You can do this in over 100 languages with an interpreter they’ll give you on the phone. You can also book a call in advance.
