About the Client Advisor role
Thanks for taking the time to read about the Client Advisor role at Social Security Scotland.
As a Client Advisor, you’ll be supporting people right across Scotland to access the benefits they’re entitled to. The work you do will make a real, meaningful difference to individuals and families every single day.
In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for many of our clients. You’ll mostly be speaking with people by phone or webchat and communicating by email and letter. Your job is to give clear, accurate information, and to do it in a warm, friendly and professional way. Dignity, fairness and respect for everyone is at the heart of what we do.
You’ll also spend part of your time processing benefit applications. That means checking that details are correct, making sure the right information has been provided and updating case records accurately. You might arrange appointments, process client requests or help ensure payments are made on time. Every task you complete helps someone move one step closer to receiving the support they need.
Because we handle sensitive personal information, confidentiality is extremely important. You’ll be trusted to always keep client data safe and secure.
You’ll work closely with your team, sharing feedback, resolving queries, and escalating anything that needs extra support. Although the role can be busy, you’re never on your own. You’ll be part of a supportive team that works together to deliver the best service possible.
As a Client Advisor, you’ll join the Operational Delivery Profession. It recognises the essential role you play in delivering devolved benefits to the people of Scotland.
If you’re someone who communicates well, enjoys helping others and wants a career where you can make a genuine difference, this could be the perfect role for you. We’re looking for people who share our values and can deliver an excellent level of service to our clients.
We hope you’ll consider joining us and becoming part of the team helping to support families, disabled people, older people and those who need social security support across Scotland.
