Overview
Adopting the Scottish Government Cloud First strategy, Social Security platforms are primarily hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Cloud Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for ownership, design and implementation of Infrastructure/platforms on AWS or other cloud platforms. This role will be part of the Cloud Architect team. The post holder will work closely with other technical specialists in supporting new platforms as they are deployed.
The post holder will ensure appropriate designs are fully scalable, resilient and cost optimised while ensuring a stable service delivery for internal customers and citizens. The Cloud Infrastructure Architect will undertake continuous improvement activities to optimise cost and performance. This role presents a unique opportunity to work as a Cloud Infrastructure Architect. The successful applicant, will get in early on this high profile public sector endeavour and will be key in shaping the ‘greenfield’ solution for the new platform and in future extensions/enhancements to its systems.
DDaT Pay Supplement
This post is part of the Scottish Government Digital, Data and Technology (DDAT) profession and as a member of the profession you will join the professional development system. This post currently attracts a £5,000 annual DDAT pay supplement, applicable after a 3 months competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are reviewed regularly and there is one currently underway. Changes will be communicated when the review is concluded.
