Join us as a Senior IT Service Manager (IT Service Design) at Social Security Scotland, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our IT service portfolio.

DDaT Pay Supplement
This post is part of the Scottish Government Digital, Data and Technology (DDAT) profession and as a member of the profession you will join the professional development system. This post currently attracts a £5,000 annual DDAT pay supplement, applicable after a 3 months competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are reviewed regularly and there is one currently underway. Changes will be communicated when the review is concluded.

Main Duties

  • Lead and develop a team of experts to deliver service improvements.
  • Promote, implement, and oversee ITIL or other relevant best practices for managing all services to ensure service availability, including IT Service Design, Availability Management, Capacity Management, Service Continuity, and Service Catalogue.
  • Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships while developing strategies and policies that align with business objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to service management policy and governance frameworks.
  • Deliver measurable outcomes for users and assess the overarching service landscape for optimisation.
  • Lead investigations into existing processes to identify problems and opportunities.
  • Collect data and create recommendations for process improvements.
  • Analyse conflicting information, taking accountability for issues that occur and be proactive in searching for potential problems to develop effective solutions.
  • Utilise evidence-based decision-making to identify and implement continuous service improvement activities.
  • Manage configuration items, service compliance, risks, and related information.
  • Take responsibility for overall governance of the management of IT Service Design.
