When an application for Young Carer Grant is received, you must check that the applicant has not already applied for and been awarded the grant within the last 12 months, starting from the date the application was made.
You must also check that no other person has applied for and been awarded the grant in respect of the same cared for person in the last 12 months, starting from the from the date of their application.
If the person the applicant cares for has been included on a grant that was applied for within the last 12 months, then this needs to be entered on the current application.
