Adult Disability Payment – Case Transfers
Social Security Scotland have recently begun the process of transferring the awards of adults in Scotland currently in receipt of Disability Living Allowance and Personal Independence Payment from the Department for Work and Pensions
People currently receiving Personal Independence Payment and some people who receive Disability Living Allowance will have their awards replaced by Adult Disability Payment which will be administered by Social Security Scotland.
We held a series of events that provided information to stakeholders about how this would take place. Due to the success of the events and to meet the stakeholder demand we are holding additional events to allow stakeholders that were unable to attend our previous events to learn more about the case transfer process.
These events are for stakeholders who support people living with a disability, long-term health condition or terminal illness who are currently in receipt of Personal Independence Payment or Disability Living Allowance from the Department for Work and Pensions.
The events will provide information on Social Security Scotland’s case transfer process including:
• an introduction to case transfer
• the timeline for transfers
• the process and the client journey
• how we will communicate with clients throughout this journey
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the events.
These events are designed for stakeholders who provide support to people living with a disability, long-term health condition or terminal illness who are currently in receipt of Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment.
Note: Content about Disability Living Allowance specifically relates to the transfer process from Disability Living Allowance to Adult Disability Payment for people who were born after 8 April 1948 and who;
- report a change of circumstance to their disability or health condition;
- are in receipt of an award of Disability Living Allowance that is due to end or be renewed after the launch of Adult Disability Payment; or
- have asked to have their award moved to Adult Disability Payment
