Adult Disability Payment - Special Rules for Terminal Illness
For stakeholders and partners who may be supporting people to apply for Adult Disability Payment under our fast-track Special Rules for Terminal Illness process or completing the new Benefits Assessment Under Special Rules in Scotland (BASRiS) form.
This event is for General Practitioners, Practice Managers, Specialist Nurses, palliative and end of life care, hospice welfare support staff, palliative care workers and anyone supporting families or individuals with a terminal illness within the pilot areas.
We will provide an overview of the new Benefit Assessment Under Special Rules in Scotland (BASRiS) form and process which replaces DS1500 (for Disability Assistance) from the Department for Work and Pensions.
We will explore the importance
of the Chief Medical Officer Guidance and outline the support to help ensure
the smooth implementation of the new terminal illness definition.
