Five Family Payments Stakeholder Event - 3 July

Who is this event for?

This event is designed for stakeholders working with parents and carers of children aged better 0 and 16 years, who are eligible for our Five Family Payments including Scottish Child Payment, Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods.

Purpose of the event

Social Security Scotland wants to make sure you have relevant and up-to-date information about the Five Family Payments that allows you to support the families you work with.

Our aim is to educate and engage stakeholders from a variety of sectors, ensuring you understand what the Five Family Payments are, eligibility criteria and how to apply for them.

Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences and ask questions.

Our payments

Social Security Scotland has five family payments to help balance family costs if you get Universal Credit, tax credits or other qualifying benefits.

Best Start Grant: three payments at key stages of your child's early years

Best Start Foods: a pre-paid card topped up with money to spend on healthy food while you are pregnant or have a young child

Scottish Child Payment: over £100 every four weeks until your child turns 16
