Child Disability Payment Pilot
Social Security Scotland will be launching the new Child Disability Payment in three Local Authority pilot areas from July 2021:
• Perth and Kinross
• Dundee City
• Western Isles
This pilot will be for new applications only and start from 26 July 2021.
This event is for stakeholders supporting families with children who are living with a disability or long term health conditions who provide support services, advice or information to clients living in the pilot areas.
This event will provide you with information about the end to end journey for clients applying for Child Disability Payment including:
- the eligibility criteria for Child Disability Payment and how this has changed
- the application process
- support available to help clients apply
- how we will process applications and make decisions
- how our clients can ask us to look again at a decision we have made
- accessing passported benefits
- what will happen if a client has a change in their circumstances
- when will client reviews happen and what will they look like
- when will clients transfer from the Department of Work and Pensions
- what happens if a child is diagnosed as terminally ill
- You will have opportunity to ask any questions you may have of the people who have designed Child Disability Payment and our policy colleagues in the Scottish Government
