Response

Request for information 1 and 2:

Please find attached the requested information.

Please note that the data that informs this information included rounded figures. The application of rounding is standard practice in statistical outputs.

Request for information 3 and 4:

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Social Security Scotland does not have the information you have requested.

Social Security Scotland has not carried out analysis on the length of time Adult Disability Payment (ADP) recipients were in receipt of ADP when they were removed from the caseload.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that Social Security Scotland does not have the information you have requested.

Request for information 5:

An exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA (personal information) applies to some of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, i.e. the data confirms the number of individuals that have been removed from the caseload in a specific month with a specific primary condition, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.

In order to assist you, and to protect the identities of those involved, we have provided redacted information in the attached document. Where the answer is 5 or less this has been redacted, where the answer is zero this has been disclosed.

Please note that these figures are based on management information, they have not been quality assured to the same standard as Official Statistics.
