The most commonly cited reasons for an application for Scottish Child Payment to be denied are:
Information on Scottish Child Payment, including re-determinations received and the percentage of those allowed, is available on our Statistics Publications page.
The percentage of applications received between 15 February 2020 and 31 March 2022 that were not approved but were subsequently allowed or partially-allowed as a result of re-determination was 1.4%.
It should be noted that additional information may have been presented as part of the re-determination process. A successful re-determination does not imply that the original decision to not approve an application was in error.
