Response

Request for information 1 & 2

As of 30 April 2025, there were 476,295 people receiving Adult Disability Payment.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the costs of locating, retrieving and providing the information requested would exceed the upper cost limit of £600. This is because we do not currently publish the data requested, broken down by age bands.

While we do hold information on the number of claimants who score more than 4 points in any of the Daily Living activities, extracting this data would require reviewing each of the 476,295 individual case files.

Under section 12 of FOISA public authorities are not required to comply with a request for information if the authority estimates that the cost of complying would exceed the upper cost limit, which is currently set at £600 by Regulations made under section 12.
