People joining Social Security Scotland

We wish to reassure all new employees that your agreed start date and contract conditions will remain the same. This means that you will be paid from the day you are due to start but we may need to change the date you actually start working and make alternative arrangements for what that will look like. We are currently putting these temporary arrangements into place.

New employees due to start with Social Security Scotland in the coming weeks or months will be contacted by our People Services team. They will agree your starting work arrangements in line with the measures introduced by the Scottish Government to slow the spread of coronavirus.

If you would like to request a call back from a member of our recruitment team or if you haven’t heard from us regarding these arrangements two working days before your agreed start date, please send an email to recruitment@socialsecurity.gov.scot with your name and telephone number.

In recognition of the measures introduced by the Scottish Government to slow the spread of coronavirus, we have taken the decision to pause all our current recruitment processes. Candidates will not have to reapply and interviews will be rearranged when circumstances allow.
