The monthly statistics show that:

• overall, 318,785 applications were received up until 31 March 2023, with 160,840 of these being received in the 2022/23 financial year
• within the latest quarter, 11,930 applications were received in January 2023, 7,655 in February, and 7,400 in March (table 1, chart 1)
• in total, 304,420 applications had been processed as of 31 March 2023, of which 156,270 were processed within the 2022/23 financial year
• of the applications processed in the latest financial year, 87% were authorised, 12% were denied and the remaining 1% were withdrawn (table 1)
