Social Impact Pledge
Social Security Scotland pledges to:
- Challenge ourselves to increase the positive impact we make on our local community.
- We will do the following things that we don’t do at the moment to improve our social impact.
Signed by David Wallace, Chief Executive, and Ally Macphail, Deputy Director for Organisational Strategy and Performance, May 2024
1st Commitment
We pledge to host an annual fundraising event to support our newly-appointed corporate charity, Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH).
SAMH work across Scotland to provide mental health social care support, addiction and employment services, a high-profile suicide prevention campaign and campaigning to contribute to positive societal change.
2nd Commitment
We pledge to support Social Security Scotland colleagues to volunteer with local organisations and charities.
This will have a positive impact on local communities and benefit the people of Scotland, while providing an opportunity for colleagues to develop new skills and interests and give their time to support people who need it.
3rd Commitment
We pledge that we will use our procurement process to ask suppliers to support local charities and community groups, wherever possible.
We want to support good causes in the communities where our colleagues are based. These organisations should reflect the benefits we administer by supporting families on low incomes, young people or disabled people.
