Adult Disability Payment has replaced Personal Independence Payment in Scotland
Personal Independence Payment (PIP), which is paid by the Department for Work and Pensions, has been replaced by Adult Disability Payment in Scotland.
Personal Independence Payment (PIP), which is paid by the Department for Work in Pensions, has been replaced by Adult Disability Payment in Scotland. Adult Disability Payment is money to help people who have a disability or long-term health condition that affects their everyday life.
Social Security Scotland is responsible for delivering Adult Disability Payment and we ask anyone in Scotland who is getting Personal Independence Payment (PIP) to contact us if they have not yet received a letter explaining that their benefit is moving to Adult Disability Payment.
People should now either have their benefit transfer in progress or have been transferred to Adult Disability Payment. Anyone with a Scottish postcode who is still getting PIP and not received a letter should get in touch with us. People who already get Attendance Allowance do not need to apply separately as their award will automatically be moved to Social Security Scotland, starting early 2025.
