Social Security Scotland began taking applications for Young Carer Grant on 21 October 2019. This publication provides information on applications and payments for Young Carer Grant from this date to 31 January 2023.

In this fifth edition of our newsletter, we will be sharing some updates from our projects, our accessibility offers and tell you about some research coming up in 2023. Thank you to all of our members who have taken part in our research projects.

This Official Statistics publication presents quarterly data on the Social Security Scotland’s workforce. The statistics show: numbers of directly employed staff by category numbers of non-directly employed workers by category staff sickness absence staff diversity information location information Quarterly updates to the tables in the publication are released in March, June, September, and December. The latest period is to the end of December 2022, published in March 2023.

Social Security Scotland's Client Survey offers our clients the chance to tell us about their views and experiences of the service they received.

Scottish Child Payment was initially introduced for low-income families with children aged under six. The payment was extended to eligible low-income families with children aged under 16 on 14 November 2022. It is intended to provide regular, additional financial support for families already in receipt of qualifying benefits to assist with the costs of caring for a child.
