Response

We have interpreted your request to relate to a Change in Circumstances for Child Disability Payment.

Request for Information 1: While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Social Security Scotland does not have the information you have requested. This is because there is no information in the Child Disability Payment legislation (Disability Assistance for Children and Young People (Scotland) Regulations 2021) to this effect.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that Social Security Scotland does not have the information you have requested.

Child Disability Payment is an award a child or young person is eligible for. Social Security Scotland make payments to a person who has legal authority to act on the child’s behalf and who is able to use the child’s money in their best interests.

Information relating to our Child Disability Payment decision making process can be found on our website: Social Security Scotland - Child Disability Payment decision making guide - Introduction

A new determination notice can only be generated with a new applicant’s name and address when a new determination has been made.

Please find attached a copy of our Child Disability Payment guidance on processing a change in responsibility.
