Advice for people applying for disability benefitsPeople who are disabled, terminally ill or living with a long-term health condition face many extra costs. Child Disability Payment, Adult Disability Payment and Pension Age Disability Payment are there to help. We are sharing advice for anyone intending to apply.
This report presents the results from the Social Security Scotland Client Satisfaction Survey for Adult and Child Disability Payment. All Adult Disability Payment or Child Disability Payment applicants were invited to take part. This survey includes responses to the survey from 1 April to 30 September 2024.
Social Security Scotland's Client Survey offers our clients the chance to tell us about their views and experiences of the service they received. The latest summary publication includes responses from clients who had received a decision on an application for Adult or Child Disability Payment between September and December 2022, or completed a Case Transfer to Adult or Child Disability Payment during the same period. The results, including insight into clients' experiences of providing Supporting Information and consultations, are being used to measure how Social Security Scotland is performing and where it can improve.

Third sector organisations receive fees for providing supporting informationThird sector organisations can receive a payment for providing supporting information for people applying for Child Disability Payment or Adult Disability Payment. When we ask organisations to complete a supporting information request form for a client, a fee of £33.50 is payable following the completion and return of the form.
Our Annual Report and Accounts details our activities from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022. This reporting period saw rapid growth as we introduced several new benefits, including Child Disability Payment and Adult Disability Payment.

Providing social security support for people with Alzheimer’sPeople diagnosed with Alzheimer’s may be entitled to extra financial support via Adult Disability Payment. This could be used to cover basic costs such as travel, energy or food.
