Child Disability Payment

There are various reasons why changes in the level of the individual’s need could lead to an unscheduled review.

Child Disability Payment is the child's benefit but an adult must act on the child's behalf until the child reaches age 16.

Where entitlement is in relation to an individual under 16 years old, CDP should be paid to the person specified in the application (Social Security (Scotland Act) 2018, s85A) who will be someone with parental rights and responsibilities, who lives with and has care of the child, provided that they are willing and practicably able to act an appointee.

Severe mental impairment and severe behavioural difficulties test. The test is used to decide if a client is entitled to the higher rate of the mobility component. The test is made up of 3 elements.
