Payment Cycles
The first payment of the Adult Disability Payment entitlement is to be made on the date as set out in the determination notice. Payment frequency of Adult Disability Payment for individuals whose awards have transferred will generally remain at the same frequency as they received Personal Independence Payment. This means where:
- where a client received their Personal Independence Payment in 4 weekly payments, they will continue to receive their Adult Disability Payment 4 weekly in arrears
- where a client received their Personal Independence Payment weekly in advance, they will continue to receive their Adult Disability Payment weekly in advance.
However, where the case manager considers that it would be unjust not to do so, payment schedules for these individuals may be set at any frequency. This will be set out in the determination notice (Adult Disability Payment regs, Sch 2, Para 14(ba))
