Case transfer

The purpose of this chapter is to set out our approach to Adult Disability Payment cases transferred from Personal Independence Payment. This includes how you should treat these cases differently from new applications.

Personal Independence Payment is a disability benefit administered by the Department for Work and Pensions. Personal Independence Payment is being replaced with Adult Disability Payment for Adults in Scotland. Adult Disability Payment is administered by Social Security Scotland. Apart from a few exceptions, Personal Independence Payment is equivalent to Adult Disability Payment in terms of eligibility rules and the amount individuals can receive.
