CSP: Temporary stops in entitlement

Temporary stops in entitlement provisions allow for a Carer Support award (Carer Support Payment, Scottish Carer Supplement, and Carer Additional Person Payment) which has ended to be reinstated without an application in certain circumstances where an individual becomes entitled to CSP again within 26 weeks. 

A CSP award could be ended because the person being cared for is no longer getting a DWP qualifying disability benefit as a result of moving to Scotland. In this case, CSP can be reinstated without an application once a Scottish qualifying disability benefit is awarded to the cared for person. This must be within 26 weeks of the CSP award ending (CSP Regs 23(1)(b), (2)).
