The Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018 states that individuals should receive all the support which they are entitled to. (Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018, Section 24: Duty to give assistance)

There is no limit on the number of Carer Additional Person Payment awards carers can receive. However, situations in which someone is caring for a total of four or more people will be rare. As the number of cared for people increases above four, it becomes less probable that a carer is able to provide regular and substantial care for 20 hours a week to each cared for person. In some cases of four or more cared for people we may request additional evidence to confirm that the caring hours requirement is being met.
