Over-payments and under-payments
There may be occasions where individuals receive payments of Carer Support Payment that they are not entitled to (Carer Support Payment Regulations, Regulation 38).
This may mean the individual may be required to repay some or all of what they received in error (Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018, sections 63 and 64, Carer Support Payment Regulations, Regulations 26 and Carer Support Payment Regulations, Regulations 28)
Individuals may be due more money than they have received if:
- they have not received all of the Carer Support Payment to which they are entitled
- Carer Support Payment has been nil rated or reduced due to overlapping benefits in error (Carer Support Payment Regulations, Regulation 27)
