Governance and groups
Social Security Scotland is part of the Scottish Government. We are an Executive Agency. This means that we are part of the Scottish Government but our management and budgets are separate. Our Chief Executive is accountable for managing our work and for the budget required to deliver.
Social Security Scotland is an Executive Agency, which means that the Agency is accountable to Ministers, and Ministers are accountable to Parliament.
David Wallace is our Chief Executive and reports to the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP.
