Child Disability Payment decision making guide

Payment cycles

The first payment of the CDP entitlement is to be made on the date as set out in the determination notice. Payment frequency of CDP for individuals whose awards have transferred will generally remain at the same frequency as they received DLAC. This means if:

  • a client received their DLAC in 4 weekly payments, they will continue to receive their CDP 4 weekly in arrears
  • a client received their DLAC weekly in advance, they will continue to receive their CDP weekly in advance.

However, where the case manager considers that it would be unjust not to do so, payment schedules for these individuals may be set at any frequency. This will be set out in the determination notice (CDP regs, Sch 1, Part 3, Para 13(c)).
