The meaning of case transfer

Case transfer is the process of moving someone’s existing benefit award from the United Kingdom social security system to the new Scottish social security system.

This means transferring responsibility for administering benefits that have been devolved to Scottish Ministers from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to Social Security Scotland.

It also means changing the benefit entitlement of Scottish residents from the UK benefit they currently receive to the equivalent Social Security Scotland benefit.

The “point of case transfer” refers to the point the individual’s CDP entitlement begins and their DLAC entitlement ends.
